We work to raise privacy awareness, drive compliance with both internal privacy policies and regulatory expectations across the organization and establish privacy as a strategic differentiator for the American Express brand.<br><br>As a second line of defense function, Global Privacy oversee, provide expertise in, and challenge the identification, management, and mitigation of privacy risks across the company in line with the privacy framework and the company's vision to provide the world's best customer experience every day.<br><br>This position is based in the United States (US) and reports to the Director, Global Privacy Program.<br><br>Do you want to set the tone for how we manage and mitigate Privacy risks in an increasingly complex regulatory landscape? Then, you could be our next Privacy Training & Communications Manager.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong><br><br>The Manager, Privacy Training & Communication is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive privacy training and communications programs tailored to the organization's needs. This role involves developing enterprise-wide and role-based privacy training, overseeing a robust professional learning and development program, and managing privacy communications.<br><br><ul><li><strong>Training Strategy & Development:</strong><ul><li>Develop a strategic vision and roadmap for privacy training initiatives aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Use instructional design principles and methodologies to design, storyboard, develop, and implement enterprise-wide and role-based e-learning and other training courses (e.g. train-the-trainer, instructor-led training) to facilitate the implementation of privacy policies, laws, and regulations.</li><li>Develop best in class Privacy learning content.</li><li>Develop learning resources such as PowerPoint decks, handbooks, manuals, and job aids to support Privacy program governance and/or enterprise learning initiatives.</li><li>Deliver Privacy training, measure training effectiveness, and implement training improvement plans.</li><li>Perform course management tasks within the enterprise Learning Management System (LMS).</li></ul></li><li><strong>Professional Learning and Development:</strong><ul><li>Establish a structured professional development program focused on privacy and data protection, including certifications,<br><br>courses, and workshops.</li><li>Collaborate with external training providers, industry associations, and professional organizations to offer relevant training opportunities and resources.</li><li>Track and report on participation and progress in professional development activities.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Communication</strong><ul><li>Develop and implement a comprehensive communication and awareness strategy to promote a strong Privacy culture across the Company.</li><li>Develop and maintain organizational communications, such as intranet page and newsletters, to ensure colleagues have knowledge of privacy resources and events.</li><li>Plan and execute annual Data Privacy Week events.</li></ul></li></ul><br><br><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong><br><br><ul><li>5+ years of experience in highly-regulated and fast-moving industries, preferably Consulting or Financial Services.</li><li>3+ years of experience in training and communication design supporting a Privacy (preferred) and Cybersecurity function.</li><li>3+ years of experience designing, delivering, and managing training, learning and development programs.</li><li>Must be willing to research Privacy topics to drive insightful and effective training and communication activities independently.</li><li>Must possess a deep understanding of instructional design and learning methodologies and principles including course design, development, implementation, and evaluations to develop Privacy training courses which grab the audience's attention, and make people 'sit up and listen'.</li><li>Experienced in using innovative training techniques including Gamification, Scenario-based training, real-life case studies, Branching, etc.</li><li>Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and experience with instructional design tools, including but not limited to: Articulate, Captivate, Lectora, and/or Storyline. Fluency programming with variables and functions (Advanced Actions preferred).</li><li>Strong project management abilities, including the capacity to plan, organize, and execute multiple training initiatives concurrently and to complete required actions to a very high standard of quality, by the assigned due date.</li><li>Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.</li><li>Excellent oral and written communications skills.</li><li>Good knowledge of Data Analytics techniques to measure the effectiveness of the training and awareness efforts being undertaken.</li></ul><br><br><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong><br><br><ul><li>IAPP Privacy qualification (CIPP-E/CIPP-US).</li><li>Bachelor's or Masters in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Communications or related degree.</li></ul><br><br><b>Qualifications</b><br><br>Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits<br><br>The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
