About the position

As a Technical Specialist III or Sr at Williams, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of our control systems. This position is not just about performing tasks; it is about using your innovation and judgment to resolve complex problems while collaborating with various partners across the company. You will be responsible for maintaining safe operations and ensuring that our hardware and software systems are compliant and efficient. Your ability to coordinate with team members will be essential, as leadership, presentation, and training skills are vital to the success of this role. In your day-to-day activities, you will engage with multiple departments, including IT, Operations, Pipeline Control, Tech Services, and Project Execution. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting in the design and programming of control systems, and optimizing these systems to enhance process efficiency. You will also be involved in managing small-scale capital projects and ensuring that all system updates are compliant with industry standards. Additionally, you will lead efforts to implement cybersecurity measures for our assets, ensuring that our operations remain secure and efficient. This role will require you to be adaptable, as you may need to work in extreme conditions, including loud environments and confined spaces. You will be expected to lift heavy items and work at elevated levels, all while adhering to safety protocols. Your contributions will not only support the Conway underground operations but will also help drive the company towards its goal of making clean energy a reality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform moderately difficult assignments to ensure system integrity, support pipeline operations, maintain compliance and maintain facility equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve sophisticated problems using technical evaluation, innovation, and judgment
  • Develop, present, and train internal and external partners; may mentor others
  • Participate in project planning and work closely with company partners
  • Lead development and tasks associated with operations, equipment maintenance, technical standards, and/or governmental requirements
  • Read, understand, and evaluate engineering design documents, contracts, and agreements
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of six (6) years' experience in the oil & gas industry
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field
  • Minimum ten (10) years of progressive experience in field operations/construction or other technical specialty field
