Cannery Supervisor ID-1458

As a Cannery Supervisor at our Alaskan processing facilities, you will oversee multiple production lines within our seafood processing plant. Your responsibilities include managing a team of line leads, ensuring product quality and safety, and meeting production targets. You will monitor overall line performance, identify and resolve issues, and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

  • Communicate with other departments and management to keep an efficient flow of production.
  • Provide guidance and train staff for each job station.
  • Record keeping and administrative paperwork.
  • Enforce safety and sanitation policies/standards.
  • Ensure all equipment is set up and running properly.
  • Take preventative measures to avoid production setbacks.
  • Ensures crew rotation during meals and breaks.
  • Ensure crew attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintains good housekeeping of the Cannery area.
  • Conduct job specific training for each position within the Cannery.
  • Ensure all SBS quality standards are being met.
  • Other duties to ensure facility and organization is fully supported and successful.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required.
  • One year of experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing/equipment.
  • Previous experience in seafood industry or manufacturing not required but preferred.


Work Environment and Schedule

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Position requires onsite presence at our Alaska Processing Facility, and the ability to travel, spending a significant amount of time during the season at our various locations and processing facilities in Alaska.

Physical Demands

While performing the essential function and job duties associated with the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
