Responsibilities

In this position...

You will be part of an engineering team working on next-generation vehicle modules.

You will work with a design team to implement circuits, validate circuit implementations, and analyze and resolve hardware failures.

You will be responsible for meeting Ford’s quality on time and maintaining cost targets.

What You'll Do...

Do you desire to be an electrical hardware engineer with an emphasis on digital design? You will be part of an engineering team working on next-generation vehicle modules. The successful candidate will work with a design team to implement circuits, validate circuit implementations, and analyze and resolve hardware failures. You will be responsible for meeting Ford’s quality on time and maintaining cost targets. You will:

 

 

 

 

  • Design High-Speed digital circuits to meet section requirements
  • Design circuits using industry-standard schematic capture tools
  • Layout implementation of responsible subsection
  • Design complex high-speed signals that meet impedance requirements
  • Perform worst-case analysis of circuits in the area of responsibility
  • Generate documentation that defines processor pin assignments
  • Develop detailed design documents
  • Perform failure mode analysis and generate process documentation
  • Define stress test routines required to validate functional sections
  • Design communication links between the processor, other internal subsections and external modules
  • Formulate test plans to ensure component level performance
  • Validate testing to ensure performance over temperature and voltage extremes
  • Handle Root cause and resolve issues in assigned sections
  • Participate in system design reviews
  • Interface closely with other teams such as Software, Mechanical, and Manufacturing teams and with external component suppliers
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally.
     

Qualifications

You'll have...

 

 

 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • 6+ months of experience with Hardware or Embedded Software systems (internship and coursework allowed)
  • You must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is unavailable for this role.

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering.
  • Knowledgeable on microprocessors, solid state memory, cameras, displays and sensors.
  • Solid understanding of industry-standard interfaces (e.g., LVDS, DDR, PCI, I2C, and Ethernet, etc.)
  • Excellent hardware and software debugging skills
  • Familiar with test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, temperature chambers, time-domain reflectometers, precision power meters, etc.)
  • Motivated and self-starter
  • Collaboration and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business users and engineering professionals (e.g. globally distributed teams, ability to adjust communications appropriately for the audience, work with all levels of management and diverse work groups, etc.)
