We are a hybrid low-cost carrier providing a diverse range of services including scheduled flights across the U.S., Canada, Central America, and the Caribbean, as well as charter and cargo operations worldwide.

Sun Country Flight Attendants are essential in upholding safety and security standards while delivering exceptional customer service. As a Flight Attendant, you will be an integral part of our team, ensuring a positive and memorable travel experience for our passengers.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Monthly guarantee of 72.5 flight hours at a rate of $21.53 per hour.
  • Flight Attendants are represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, with compensation based on the collective bargaining agreement.
  • A learning stipend of $1,000 is awarded upon successful completion of the training program.

Initial Investment:

  • Flight Attendants are responsible for the purchase of their first uniform and luggage, estimated at $700-$1,000, which can be deducted from payroll once employed.

Relocation:

  • Relocation costs are solely the responsibility of the Flight Attendant.

Work Schedule:

  • Sun Country Airlines operates 365 days a year, with Flight Attendants assigned to various shifts including weekends, evenings, holidays, and overnight flights.
  • Shifts are bid monthly based on seniority.
  • As a "reserve" (on-call) Flight Attendant, you must be available to report to the airport within two hours of receiving an assignment.
  • "Reserve" Flight Attendants are scheduled with 10 days off per month, remaining on call during the remaining days.
  • Line holding Flight Attendants are scheduled with a minimum of 13 days off per month.

Training:

  • The training program is approximately 5 weeks long and conducted on-site at our training facility in Minneapolis, MN.
  • Sun Country Airlines provides travel and lodging accommodations during training.
  • Successful completion of the training program is mandatory to become a Flight Attendant.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety, security, and comfort of passengers.
  • Comply with all mandated Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and Sun Country Airlines policies.
  • Conduct preflight safety checks of the cabin and emergency equipment.
  • Respond effectively during emergency situations.
  • Sell onboard beverages, food, and amenities.
  • Prepare and serve meals and beverages according to service standards.
  • Administer first aid in the event of customer illness or injury.
  • De-escalate situations with unruly or upset passengers and maintain order in the cabin.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and efficient manner, complying with all local, state, and federal safety and health regulations, programmatic standards, and internal Sun Country Airlines policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must possess a passport with at least 6 months of validity prior to the start of training.
  • Ability to travel in and out of the USA and Canada, as well as cities/countries served by Sun Country Airlines.
  • Ability to pass all drug testing in compliance with the FAA.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of direct customer service experience.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and clearly speak in English.
  • Must be 20 years of age or older at the end of initial training.
  • Must be able to reach 80 vertical inches (without shoes) to operate necessary equipment and systems.
  • Must be able to kneel to operate the aircraft door mechanism and perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent dependability and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately to emergency situations, including aircraft evacuations, in-flight fires, bomb threats, unusual situations, and turbulence.
  • Ability to manage emergencies and care for passengers under duress.
  • Constant alertness and ability to act effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to endure repetitive variations in altitude and cabin pressure.
  • Ability to relocate to within 2 hours of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) while on "reserve" (on-call) status.
  • Ability to be away from home for up to six (6) consecutive nights.
  • Ability to work "reserve" (on-call) status for extended periods.
  • Must be able to fit fully into FA jump seats and secure the seat belt/shoulder harness assembly without modifications.
  • Adequate vision to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Adequate hearing acuity to communicate effectively with co-workers and passengers.
  • Ability to meet the demands of a vigorous and varied schedule.
  • Stamina appropriate to the duty requirements.
  • Must present a neat and professional appearance, adhering to Sun Country Airlines uniform and appearance standards. No visible tattoos or body piercings.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous Flight Attendant experience.

Work Environment:

This job primarily operates in a pressurized aircraft for extended periods. Employees will be exposed to loud and distracting sounds and noise levels. The cabin air is recycled, requiring exposure to recycled air. Extensive travel is required, demanding the ability to spend consecutive nights away from home and endure various climates.
