· $85K + DOE for Certified Officer.

· Hours: 10 Hour Shifts (With full staffing)

· Up to $3000 Moving Expense Reimbursement.

· Up to $1000 uniform allowance as needed.

Qualifications: Lateral Sergeant Position

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident.
  • Have two years of continuous law enforcement services in the last three years.
  • Have been certified as a law enforcement officer in AK or another state.

· Meet Alaska Police Standards Council (APSC) background requirements for certification or possess an APSC Basic Certification or higher. Learn more about APSC certification here: [insert hyperlink]

  • Out-of-state Laterals must successfully complete the two-week APSC Equivalency Course within one year of employment.
  • Good command of English, both written and verbal.

· Possess a valid Alaska driver's license or the ability to obtain one.

  • No felony arrests, to include Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, or Drug Distribution.
  • Possess normal color vision, and visual acuity of not less than 20/100 in each eye. corrected to 20/20 in better eye and 20/30 in lesser eye.
  • Able to meet and maintain department standards for firearm qualification and all applicable State and Federal laws to possess and carry a firearm.

Responsibilities:

· Enforce local, state, and federal laws, maintaining peace and order within the community.

· Provide a timely and efficient emergency response, ensuring the safety of individuals in need.

· Generate detailed written reports, conduct interviews, and testify at court proceedings, contributing to the justice system.

· Work as a Sergeant, supervising police officers and staff.
