Answer Line Representative (Part-Time) ID-1569

About the position

The Answer Line Representative position at BJC HealthCare is a part-time role that offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the health and lives of children through effective communication and coordination of care. This role is remote and requires the candidate to reside in the Greater St. Louis area. The position entails managing inbound and outbound communications with physicians, patients, and other stakeholders across the BJC network. The representative will utilize various systems and communication methods to ensure that accurate and complete information is shared, which is crucial for the coordination of patient care. As a part of the St. Louis Children's Hospital team, the representative will be responsible for handling a high volume of incoming calls from patients and healthcare facilities. Providing exceptional customer service is paramount to ensure a high level of satisfaction for patients, practices, and providers. The representative will proactively follow up with physicians and patients regarding hospital visits, ensuring that communication efforts are accurate and timely. This includes acting as a liaison support for patients, medical staff, and providers, and ensuring follow-through to resolution of inquiries. The role also involves identifying and addressing caller questions and concerns, resolving issues when possible, and routing requests and messages to the appropriate provider and support staff. Maintaining accountability for accurate data entry in the electronic health record is essential, as is upholding patient privacy and security as outlined by HIPAA regulations. The representative will be expected to work flexible hours, including weekday and weekend evenings, and must be available to work on holidays and every other weekend.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage high volume of incoming calls from patients and healthcare facilities, providing exceptional customer service to ensure a high level of satisfaction for our patients, practices, and providers.
  • Proactively follow up with physicians and patients regarding hospital visits.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication efforts including: initial point of contact, acting as liaison support for patients, medical staff and providers, and ensuring follow through to resolution.
