Position: Area Manager - Fulfillment Centers

Amazon is hiring Area Managers for our Fulfillment Centers (FCs). We distribute millions of products annually to our loyal customers. Key focus areas include safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity.

  1. Review work forecasts and determine productivity requirements to meet overall building objectives.
  2. Partner with other managers to balance labor and ensure efficient shift operations.
  3. Support safety programs and OSHA compliance to maintain a safe work environment.
  4. Identify and lead process improvement initiatives using Lean tools.

Supervisory Responsibilities

You will lead a team of warehouse associates, ensuring proper training and addressing their needs to focus on their roles. Leading change at internet speed and fostering innovation are crucial aspects of this role.

Additional Job Elements

  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.
  • Walking frequently in the FC, which may be over a quarter mile long.
  • Continuous standing and walking.
  • Ability to work in noisy, unlit, or non-air-conditioned environments.
  • Access all areas of the building safely, including ladders and stairs.

Skills Required

  • Management experience with employee performance.
  • Experience with performance metrics and process improvement (e.g., lean techniques).
  • Flexibility to work weekends and overnight shifts.

Qualifications

Basic: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Preferred: 2+ years of experience in performance metrics, process improvement, or lean methodologies.
